Boston School Stay Out (second) is held.

February 26, 1964

This second demonstration of its kind within eight months involves some 8,000 students. They are joined by hundreds of white students from some two dozen suburban schools in attending neighborhood-based “Freedom Schools,” where speakers include the Episcopal Bishop of Massachusetts Anson Phelps Stokes and Boston Celtics star Bill Russell. Afterwards, some of the students gather on Boston Common and march to City Hall.
